Microsoft Dynamics GP Integration Manager Error: “Are you sure you want to delete this customer record?”

 Trying to integrate customers from integration manager and received the above error?

Try creating a customer maually, then saving and see if you experience any errors there. That would assist in guiding you to the reason for same. 

Mine was due to collections management not being installed on the brand new company that was added to an existing instance. As this client did not renew the module, I just removed CM from the dynamics set file and this resolved the error. 

Unable to add new code to Web Server (Where the GP Web Client is setup)

 When adding a new product to the Web Server you may experience the following error "Privilege error" unable to install new code. 

This is because although, everyone is logged out of GP, there are stranded Web Client Sessions. 

To end these, go to task manager and end the processes as follows: "Microsoft.Dynamics.GP.Web.Services.Runtime.Process (32 bit)"

Trinidad and Tobago Passport Renewal - MRP for Child Under 16.

First:

1. Create an account on the passport login page. Passport Office (ttpassport.info)
2. Make an appointment.

Copies needed:

1. Copy of Passport Bio Page
2. Copy of Birthpaper
3. Copy of Parent's ID/Passport Bio Page
4. Print the appointment received from the online page, this includes a barcode. 

Other:

1. Fill out the TT Post Authorization Form. Note, the Name at the top will be parent's name and also write 'on behalf of' then write in the child's name. 2. TT Post A5 Envelope, self addressed to Child with Parent's name in Attention field. 

Originals needed:

1. Old Passport of Child

4. Authorization from other parent if they are not attending. 
5. Parent's ID/Passport

No you do not need:

• A picture for a renewal of MRP for a child under 16. 

What happens:

1. You will be seen at the receptionist downstairs who will check all your documents. Once in order, you will be sent to third floor. 
2. You get to wait to see the other receptionist there. Then you get seated and wait to hear your name called. 
3. You will then be seen by an officer to verify all information. 
4. Then you get to wait in the waiting area again.
5. Then someone will call your name to go in and pay (via linx) and get your photo taken. 
6. They will take a sticker off the TT Post envelope and give it to you. This can be used to track the package after 3 weeks when it is expected to be in TTPost's possession. The documents in the package will be the new passport and your original custody documents if any were provided. 

When do you get it back?

• It takes 3-4Weeks for Immigration to organize a non expedited document. 
• Then TT Post will collect and dispatch for delivery. 
• You will be contacted for receiving and need to sign for receipt. 
• You can track the package via the paper they provide to you at the Passport office.

KingswaySoft SSIS Error at Merge Join - An item with the same key has already been added

Issue

• You are trying to join two sets of data using a Merge Join. 
• No matter what you try you get the error "An Item with the same key has already been added"

 

Background:

•           It works well using Visual Studio 2017, but your same map design does not work on Visual Studio 2012.

 

What you may have tried and did not work:

•          Deleting and recreating map
•          Renaming connections and every other node in VS
•          Restarting your server

 

What worked for me:

•          Add a two-layer sort for both outputs before the merge join as the error is complaining about a key.

Integrating data to Dynamics GP from KingswaysSoft which sits on SSIS

Scenario: 

You create a map and the resulting errors are to be written to a sql table via use of the OLE DB connector, so that triggers can be executed in SQL so other records can be updated to remove your failed lines as necessary due to KingswaySoft not playing by the rules of GP. 

 

Issue:  

SQL Table Trigger does not run when the records are inserted from Kingswaysoft. 

SQL Table Trigger only runs when the records are inserted through SQL. 

 

Resolution: 

Right click on the Ole DB output,  Go to the Advanced Editor , navigate to Component Properties of the OLE DB connector and change Access Mode from "OpenRowset using FastLoad" to "OpenRowset" 

Dynamics GP Error - Cannot drop the index 'taErrorCode.AK2taErrorCode' because it does not exist or you do not have permission

So you are upgrading GP and get the below error.

This is due to a missing index.

Script one out from a working machine and script into your 'troubled' environment. Be sure to also script in the primary key as well in case it is also missing.

Error: the stored procedure smgrantaccessonaccountmstr returned the following results dbms:0 Microsoft Dynamics GP

So you receive the above error on doing an update/upgrade.

You have re-run the grant sql script, change db owner, etc, multiple times.

Even reviewed the stored procedure.

Reason for issue:
-There is a mis-named table. Possibly with a period in the name.

Resolution:
- Just rename the table.
-Continue to utilities.

Voila!

SSRS - An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted) The processing of Parent for tablix 'Tablix1' cannot be performed. Cannot compare data of types System.String and System.DateTime. Please check the data type returned by the Parent. (rsComparisonTypeError)

So you get the above error when generating a report that usually works.

This is because there is a conflict on your tablix group.

For mine the issue was resolved when i removed the Recursive Parent from my group on the Tablix1 tablix.

Analysis Cubes Creating Pivot Error - Cannot access file

So you are creating a pivot after upgrading and then when you save the file, you get an error that the file cannot be accessed and it refers to an excel file in the folder of the older version of Dynamics GP.



What to do:
- Change the Server name in the Pivot window which is Microsoft Dynamics GP>> Tools>> Analysis Cubes>> Create PivotTable Reports.
- Pick back the module/cube
- Click Save.
-This will generate the pivot to the new GP version.
-Now you can click excel icon to open your Pivot.

Analysis Cubes Upgrade Dynamics GP Error in Cube - Unhandled Object Exception Class not registered

So you have upgraded Analysis Cubes for Dynamics GP and then go into GP to Microsoft Dynamics GP>> Tools>> Analysis Cubes>>Create Pivot Reports and when creating a new pivot, you click save and get an unhandled object exception: class not registered.

This is due to not having excel on the machine you are trying to deploy on. Use another machine.

SSRS Address is Invalid

The correct address existed, the Configuration Manager could be reached and everything however, my reports could not be deployed.

I removed SSRS Native Feature from my SQL 2016 installation.
I deleted the SSRS Databases in SQL.
I confirmed the log and mdf files were also deleted.
I reinstalled SSRS Native Feature to my SQL 2016.
Configured SSRS in the Configuration Manager - Create SSRS Database, click apply on the web services and other window to register the site.

Run GP as Admin.
SSRS Reports are being deployed!


If this does not work for you it could be due to security. If you are unable to access the site in ie then it means the administrator has not reduced the security on the internet. Thus reduce the security and you should be able to proceed. We had a hard customer so we instead got edge installed, set that as the default web browser, redeployed and it worked. Management Reporter - Couldn't retrieve the list of available databases: The connection attempt failed.

You get the error as seen below when trying to deploy the Management Reporter Data Mart under the "Database GP Connection Information" section.

"Couldn't retrieve the list of available databases: The connection attempt failed."

I experienced it with MR CU16 and other persons have experienced with older versions of MR. 

What to do:

To resolve the Dexterity Shared Components 12 needs to be installed. You can retrieve this from a GP2013R2 install file.

Once installed you can complete the MR Data Mart deployment.

Unable to access SQL after straight install from Azure

So you get your new VM and you see SQL installed. You try to connect to SQL and dont know the sa password. So you use the Windows domain account but cannot get in either.

Reason is because the domain may not have been setup yet so you need to connect with the local admin account.

• Thus you sign in to the machine as the local admin account. 
• Sign in to SQL. 
• Change the Properties to Mixed Mode. 
• Then enable the sa user in security. 
• Then set the password.

GP Web Client First Log in - Error Received "A get/change operation on table 'syUserDefaults' failed accessing SQL data dynamics gp"

So you set up web client
Try to log in for the first time and get:

"A get/change operation on table 'syUserDefaults' failed accessing SQL data dynamics gp"
More Info : "The server principal "(username)" is not able to access the database "DYNAMICS" under the current security context."


To Resolve:
- Run grant scripts against Dynamics and Company Databases
-Give your web client sql user account DYNGRP access to DYNAMICS database.

Management Reporter - Login failed for user ''. Reason: An attempt to login using SQL authentication failed. Server is configured for Windows authentication only

So you are trying to install Management Reporter
You have installed the services
You are trying to deploy the data mart or the legacy and no matter how many times you put in the sa password you get the error above.

How to fix?
-Use a higher version of Management Reporter. The version you are using is possibly not compatible with your SQL version.

Analytical Accounting Error - Assigned amount does not equal the distrbution amount

So you are posting a journal and get the error only when posting not when you print an edit list.

What is wrong? The distributions in the AA Work tables are mixed up.

Review these tables and manually update where you see the credit and debit or even the percentage allocation is incorrect.

Tables:

• AAG10000
• AAG10001
• AAG10002

Revalue vs Non Revalue Items

When an item is not set to be revalued the following happens.

Scenario A with Non Revalued Item:

• Item Purchased and Received into stock at $500.
• Some of the item is subsequently sold
• Item is Invoiced through purchasing at different unit cost say $550.

End Result for Scenario A of Non Revalued Item:

• GL Updated with Inventory value of $500 from the Purchase Receipt
• GL reduced with the Inventory and Cost of sale based on the purchase receipt i.e. $500.
• Sub-ledger reflects the purchase receipt cost i.e. $500.
• Invoice difference is reflected in the purchase price variance account. This does not affect inventory sub-ledger as the cost remains the receipted cost and the inventory account matches this value in the sub-ledger as the difference is posted to the purchase price variance account instead of inventory.
• In the end the sub-ledger and GL balances but at the Receipt Cost.

When an item is set to be revalued the following happens.

Scenario B with Revalued Item

• Item Purchase and Received into stock at $500
• Some of the item is subsequently sold
• Item is Invoiced through purchasing at different unit cost say $550.

End Result for Scenario B with Revalued Item

• GL Updated with Inventory value of $500 from the Purchase Receipt
• GL reduced with the Inventory and Cost of sale based on the purchase receipt i.e. $500.
• Sub-ledger reflects the purchase receipt cost i.e. $500.
• Purchase Invoice difference Debits the Inventory sub-ledger for the $50 as well as the GL (instead of the purchase price variance account used in Scenario A). 
• The system automatically creates a journal to update the cost of sale and inventory where sales transactions were posted from this receipt layer. 
• In the end the sub-ledger and the GL balances but at the Invoice Cost.

In the end it is all dependent on what you want to see in your General Ledger. 

And no - Revalue Inventory does not result in your sub ledger to general ledger being out of balanced.

Note the snip below is for the Revalued Item at 600 and not 500 as listed in the example scenario above.

Management Reporter Error - Change Tracking not enabled for tables GL00100, GL00102, etc

So you are deploying Management Reporter Data mart and get the change tracking error.

Now this would result in you having to set each table noted to have change tracking enabled.

Instead of doing this you can -
Go straight to GP,
Admin -> Setup-> Company-> Company, click the Options button, turn off Enable GL Reporting and Turn it back on. This will reset the change tracking and you can proceed.
